Are you looking to relocate in Las Vegas?

Las Vegas, capital of Sin City... in the State of Nevada, it's actually a city very nice, not all is casinos, night clubs, gamblers, it's also a great place to live mostly around the strip, like 4 miles away in any direction. When I moved there, my first stop was in Summerlin, beautiful area it may be a little pricy but is nice neighborhood and then there is one casino known as Red Rock -not only a casino but a bowling, restaurants, concert area, etc-.

Employment:

Las Vegas has a lot of jobs, if you are interested to work in the hospitality industry you are in the right spot, because we have plenty of hotels in need of concierges, front desk, sales, Managers, Bartenders, Waitress, croupier, etc.

A link where to check jobs are:

  •  -Work for MGM is fantastic-.
  • Job govs
  • www.snagajob.com
  • or craigslist.org -but I don't recommend it, because there is too much scam- so be aware.
Neighborhoods:

Henderson, Summerlin, Blue Diamond, Spring Valley, Green Valley are the best areas to live.

Let's say you are looking for a three bedroom apartment but your budget in under a $ 1000,00  you can find in Spring Valley, Blue Diamond, and some areas close by Summerlin like Ft. Apache and Tropicana,  or Desert inn rd and Buffalo drive, there are many places where you can look, but if your budget is higher, Summerlin by the Red Rock Casino area is good like Cheyenne ave and Rampart Blvd, or you are more into green area, Henderson and Green Valley is really good, and you are only 5 miles away from the strip. I don't recommend anything too close to the strip, neither to the airport that is on the middle of the city.

Don't forget when you are applying for an apartment, it usually takes up to 5 days to give you an answer, some of them take an application fee of $25 up to $ 75 per person, so be sure what area you like because you don't want to apply in many apartments. Don't forget your credit score goes down every time they run it.

Utility Bills:

You need Phone, Tv, Internet, Home Security, there is COX.
When I used to live there I had Century Link, I never had any problem with it.
When you rent, usually (90% of the times) water and sewer is included in the price.
Electric power  is with NVEnergy, you might leave a deposit (under $200).

Car's bills:

Insurance full cover: around $120 (included two cars) way cheaper than Miami!!
Emision and smog test is around 20 bucks and it also depends on the year of your car. You can find more information here.

In all cities are traffic, that's something you can't control, but you can try different hours, or routes, always check your gps to find out delays on the way.

Food and Groceries:

If you come from Miami, let me tell you here is not Publix, but is Smith's, Winco's food is like a costco, and I heard really good food, also Mariana's supermarket, which is latin food, Albertson's, Trader joe (good selection of wine) and for organic food there are Farmers Market all over the area.

Places to visit out of the blue of Las Vegas, A MUST SEE:

Family and kids outside the Strip:

Is winter and you want to enjoy the snow, well grab everyone and get into the car, because you are going to spend the day in a sweet place where everyone is going to have a blast!!! Your destination is called Mt. Charleston, and you can do so many things, not only in winter time but also in summer time, you can go hiking, riding horses, camping or just check the area out, is so worth it!!!

You are into Parks like me... here is another super good, are you ready?? Don't forget your camera, and if you want to take some cooler, ice, drinks, charcoal and some burgers, this is the place to enjoy an unique BBQ. Valley of Fire.

Lake Mead, as it name says has a great lake, where you can rent a boat or jet skis, or having some lunch to the restaurant on the marina and enjoy views, feed the fishes.

The Famous Hoover dam, that is amazing and if you had watched the history channel you already know about it.

Are you ready for a cowboy experience??? Yes, you!!! but before letting you enjoy this, on the way of this small town , you'll see the Red Rock Canyon, as you have noticed, the mountains in Las Vegas are red, mostly in summer time, and you can enjoy them all over the city, this is something I miss a lot!!!

Bonnie Spring for your son or daughter and yourself, they also have a petty zoo and a restaurant that is open all over the year, love to go in winter because they have this big fireplace and you can sit around and drink a hot cocoa with whipped cream, or if you feel more festive an irish coffee!!

Do you want to find an Oasis in the middle of nowhere? Well this neighborhood is known as Lake Las Vegas, here are some amazing houses, great apartments, casinos, hotels and of course great restaurants, the little town seems like a spaniard little town, is quiet and exquisite. Celine Dion and Elton John live on that area, the only inconvenience is if you want to shop for food you have to get out.

And for the LOVERS... You want to celebrate an anniversary or just to have a really romantic getaway, here is the winery in Pahrump, also looks like an oasis in the middle of the desert, because all around is green. The city it's okay, it has some casinos and is growing a lot because you don't have to pay land taxes. So if you ever want to buy a house, check the prices, really good!!
Going back to this winery, you can just go and visit, do the tour, try some wines or (that you must at least once in your life) get a reservation on the restaurant, beautiful inside and the food is excellent, Don't forget to try the Simphony 2013 is delicious.

Well I think I got passionated about it, but I think I pretty much gave some tips, on where to look, what to expect, what areas are good, and not too much from the strip, because once you start living in Las Vegas, you probably would work really close by, and at the end of the day, you don't feel like going to the strip, too much traffic, a lot of people drinking, is a mess that once in a while is fine, but everyday....  get's boring!! Only when you have family visiting, and you know, is a nice place because you are 4 hours away from the beach, 4 hours away to the Grand Canyon, 6 hours away from Parck City. And Las Vegas Int'l airport takes you wherever you want!!!

Another thing to keep in mind is to look people like you in Facebook, there is a lot of groups that just move or relocated and they like to get in touch to help each other, or maybe you want to sell some of the furniture you travelled with, there is a yard sale Facebook group, who is fantastic to save some bucks, and instead of putting on the garbage somebody else might be using it!

So if you have any questions, type me back and happy to assist ya!!!

How is living in another state?

 Hello y'all

How many of you have the idea to go to another state but yet it's only and idea, you look for information on the net, you research, get into forums, bloggers, you tubers, but still don't find the right thing who make you take a decision.

Well I have been thinking to post some of my experience moving to other states, what you have to look, areas and prices, rent a house or apartment, utility bills and its deposits, car registrations, jobs and school if you have kids, if not, you can skip that part! Supermarkets where you can buy and places you can visit and get to know your city.

All that is important because you know how much money will you be spending the first 2 months. And my advise is that before moving, check for employment first and apply it, is important to have the job taken, or if not you'll lose time and money, but if you are going already with a job...thumbs up!!! That's great, you have already made the first most important point of the list!

If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to leave comments, and I will get back to you!!!

Thank you!

Sexual Harassment on my library....

Today I had a strange situation that I don't wish it to anybody.I went to the library to pick some books, lately is my hobby!!! So I was on the spanish department and there was this guy, a black male, 6" ft tall, skinny, wearing a black Nike t shirt and wearing sport clothes. It kinda feel weird because he did not look spanish at all to me, but you never know, right? So I was over some books and I wasn't putting attention to this guy, the thing is he was getting to the point who was acting very strange, so I moved far away to the crafts sections, and like a minute later, on the other side of the book shelves I see him, like he's looking for books but he isn't, he's actually moving right to left and so on... like he was shadowing my movements. I went down to pick a book and I raise my eyes to the other side through the books and.....OMG!!!! He's masturbating!!!!! So gross, so disgusting.... ughhhh Of course I went straight to the counter to speak with someone about it and to report it!!! We are in a library, imagine if there are kids around!!! What's going on??? Seriously, that situation was awful and felt bad about it. The guy walked away before police arrived, but I did my best to detail everything I remembered, mostly clothes.. and accessories, because I was looking for books, not looking guys!!!

So long ago It happens something strange as well, it was like 60 miles from where I live now. I remember I went to Publix to get some cookies for my hubby and I'm with the cashier, he's ringing up my stuff, and this black male come out of nowhere and ask me how much are the cookies. I respond to him the price thinking that he may like and may want to buy cookies for himself, but no... he open his wallet and was pretending to pay me the cookies. Ehh...excuse me? I don't need noone to pay for my cookies! Hellouuu??? It freaked me out, so I didn;t ran to my car, but I walked as fast as I could. Once I was on my car, I looked over my back, and there he was. So, I started my car and drove, he kinda follow me and I was into going to the police station, but after giving some turns I lost him.
I spoke about this to my husband and he looks at me perplex but he thinks seriously that I make this up.

Like really??  It always happens something to me when he's no around, either way, I don't think he notices if someone says anything...it may be the english barrier... who knows!!!

Does anything like that happen to you before? something strange that you would like to share?

Final Cut Pro for Windows?

NO WAY!!!

I'm surprised that with all the technology around we are kinda stuck when planning to edit a video.

If you are a Mac user, that's fine because you have IMovie (that is similar to Windows Movie Maker) and then the next step is going for Final Cut Pro (which not only me, but any who had used before know is fantastic).

What about other programs for editing?

Let's see Sony Vegas is not that bad but can't compare with Final Cut. Is more like an upgrade from Movie Maker ( at least from my point of view), and the other ones like WeVideo so simple that even a cat can use it. Maybe for 5 years old or people not savvy at all, but on these days even 10 years old kids know how to use those programs a Final Cut..

The next good one that you can use in any platform is Lightworks, and the best is Free the basic stuff like:
- real time titling effects, real time effects including over 100 presets, advance multi cam editing, second monitor output. You can import in all formats (another plus), but only to upload in youtube, web and Vimeo (like WMM) If you are a youtuber that is just great, no need for more.

So many people use also Pinnacle Video, that it's not bad but is getting older and the updates aren't that special, it's also a pretty easy editor to use, what i like most in here is the background audio that you can add which is super easy. It stops all the time and I don't have the patience.

Then there is Filmora which you also have to pay a quote to be able to use it to the max, but pretty much every video editor is similar to the other, just only the names and some little differences.

We are already working with 3D printing, with is a huge advance in technology and opened the doors to the world a thousands of opportunities for designers, creators.etc, so how's is possible we still are on pampers with video editing? It should be way more options and better.

I always believed that if I was on my mind it was possible to become a reality... and it's coming... certain things faster than others.

What video editor do you use? Why you like it? Which would you recommend?

Hope to hear from you!!!!

Happy reading!!! :)

Happy Tuesday!!!

Today I decided to post about Barcelona. I live in Miami, US, but my family and I have lived in Barcelona for many years, and it's a beautiful city that's still growing.

Last year I used to work with Marriott as Reservation Agent, and I have a lot of guest traveling to Barcelona, since I love to travel I used to send them a map with all the places they can visit. Our gold moon... Poem

Did you see last night moon?
Was huge
she was named Artemis, Aphrodite,
Isis, Morgana, Selene...

Goddess of femininity
involves everybody who watches her
hide in the universe,
admired for everyone
simply beautiful
unique
but lonely
trapped by jail of customs,
desires, fears...

She is secretly in love
of the Sun
but is hard to catch him;
the universe is so big
but only one fire star
makes her vibrate.

Every night she waits
until the Sun appears on the horizon.

She waits patiently
praying for be the only one.

While the moon waits
the time fly
the love become impossible
to get,
is transformed
in something superfluousness-
when the Sun awakes
and found it out
was too late.

And the Moon
away from the sun
happy to see him every morning
still on the Universe
spells with her magic
to all of us.

Maybe that's the reason
to feel romance under her light
cause your under her spell.

is it getting fit a goal difficult to achieve...?

Yeah  but it doesn't have to...you heard me!! or actually you're reading me at this momento!

I have gained so much weigh that scares me when I see pictures of myself. Doesn't happen to you? I try everyday to start a diet, I even feel guilty eating but I wasn't motivated so and kept quitting every time. How many of you think that does not have the right "sport wear" to start?.You know deep down is bad excuse!!! You are sabotaging yourself!!!

Or you came with the ideas of " Is hot outside, I'll wait until it gets fresh", and when the time came then you are like... "oh is too dark, don't want to go run because it might some bugs around" or maybe " I already took a shower... so can't do!!!"

We always will find a million excuses to not to do it, but I think we need to cheer us up every minute, try to keep your mind positive, check the pictures where you feel bad (like that one where your arms looks twice as big... vs the other one you look great, normal and healthy, not skinny, just fine).

Drink tons of water!! I can tell you I'm horrible drinking water but lately what I do is buy water bottles, I noticed I grab them one after another, and at the end of the day I had drank 5. Not bad, right? Or maybe just add some fruits, like lemon, strawberry's, orange... to give a scent to the water. I also love drinking tea, so I usually drink it hot but like 3 to 4 times daily.

Setting up your mind into "healthy mode" is not that difficult, you only need to work on it a day at a time, that's it!! Is fine to put goals like let's say a month, but at the same it brings anxiety to your life and then you end it up eating more. Let's say you have to take it like you are in a cruise with a itinerary of events and just enjoy while you can.

I'll say for starters:

Wake up in the morning and drink a cup of water (get some shorts and t shirt, have breakfast) try to avoid milk, because is not good for you at all.  Then your regular morning breakfast. (try to avoid sugars or flour)
Do some exercise... no need to kill yourself  running 4 miles or be working out for 2 hours, just leave it at 30 mins. Best way to do this is getting some nice music, that is going to make you dance!!! Oh yeah... something like Work B.cht from Britney Spears, or Party Rock from LMAO.  Just like doing zumba fitness!! Have you tried? If you are not a gym person, you can always get the DVD's and do it yourself at home. Another exercise that I love is Kick Boxing is a nice one!!!

And then get dress and go to work or whatever you do in regular basis. Don't forget drinking water if you're hungry, and a hot drink after lunch. It helps burns the fat.

For dinner: some veggies, salad, chicken, eggs. Not too much food, just enough,

And if you are having hard time getting into doing exercise,.. there is this fantastic website FitGirls that teach you how to do it, there is a challenge: 28 day Jumpstart that you can follow on Instagram #28dayjumpstart. The only requirement is to purchase their book ( that is really cool and give you tons of tips) and a goal of 28 days into this diet, every day you see girls just like you doing her best, and between each other, show their support, so you are not by yourself and if you need that extra push, they will help you to achieve it. You can repeat as many times as you want.

Check it out first and if you like join!!!

I know some people get really obsessed in the road of getting fit, but what is important is taking it slow but maintain yourself full motivated and mostly happy with what you are, because the inside is the most precious thing in a person!!! Never forget that!!
